Watauga first became a city on October 11, 1958, but its establishment began long before that. The city’s rich history includes a railroad station and a post office, both of which opened in 1883. It grew from a meager population of just 65 to close to 25,000 people in the present day. Don’t confuse this with Watauga County, North Carolina, though. This city is in Tarrant County, Texas.
